During The Drifters celebrated years, spanning the 1950s and 1960s, there were two distinct periods. The first, dating from the early 1950s, highlighted the voice of the legendary Clyde McPhatter. Later in the decade and throughout the 1960s, The Drifters enjoyed their greatest commercial success, recording such classics as “Under The Boardwalk,” “Up On The Roof,” and “On Broadway.” This period of The Drifters history featured the years when Ben E. King was part of the group.
